The Armor tab reads 4 ores for Light Helmet 100%, 5 for 85%, 6 for 70/30, and Heavy Armor anywhere from 14 to 23. Here is why that gap is real.
Loot To Forge Armor: Ore Count Thresholds, 4-23
On the Armor tab, 4 ores read Light Helmet 100%, 5 read Light Helmet 85%, 6 split Light Helmet 70% / Light Armor 30%, and Heavy Armor turns up somewhere between 14 and 23 ores: 14 The Apex read Heavy Armor 95%, 17 Frostbite read 100%, and 22 or 23 read 95% / 100%. Nothing reconciles those readings, and Good Bro Studio has published no threshold table, so the number that decides your craft is the percentage on the preview panel. Every figure here is community-observed and can move with an update.
- Low counts are stable: 4 to 6 ores is the Light band, and those readings agree.
- Heavy Armor has no agreed count. 14, 17, 22 and 23 are all on record, a 9-ore spread.
- The same load gives a different class per tab. Five ores read Katana 85% on Weapon and Light Helmet 85% on Armor.
- Your bag is the first gate. A craft needs 4 to 24 ores and Max Ore Count starts at 4.
Official source: +1 Loot To Forge on Roblox, place 118805555015549 by Good Bro Studio. The universe record returns no ore table, no drop rates and no class thresholds, and the developer ships no patch notes, so every number below is a community reading of the in-game preview.

The Armor tab thresholds on record
The forge is four slots, each taking a stack of one ore type, so a 14-ore craft is four stacks rather than fourteen clicks. The Armor tab sits lower-right next to Weapon, and the preview updates before you commit.
| Ores loaded | Ore in the capture | Preview reading | Grade |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4 | any same-tier stack | Light Helmet 100% | Community-observed, agreed |
| 5 | 1 Diamond + 2 Mystic Crystal + 2 Obsidian | Light Helmet 85% | Community-observed, one capture |
| 6 | 3 Bone Ore + 3 Arcane | Light Helmet 70% / Light Armor 30% | Community-observed, one capture |
| 14 | The Apex | Heavy Armor 95% | Community-observed, disputed |
| 17 | Frostbite | Heavy Armor 100% | Community-observed, disputed |
| 22 or 23 | high-tier mix | Heavy Armor 95% / 100% | Community-observed, disputed |
The 4-ore floor is not arbitrary: it matches your starting bag size, so a fresh account can make exactly the one craft the game allows. The 6-ore row is the most useful of the three, the only reading that splits between a helmet and a chest piece.
Why the Heavy Armor count runs from 14 to 23
Three published readings say 14, 17, and 22 or 23. No single curve produces all three, which is why community guides keep telling you to read the preview instead of quoting a number.
The likeliest explanation is that the threshold is not a constant. One community guide states it may shift with the version or with the rarity band of the ore loaded, and the captures fit: 14 The Apex, the highest multiplier in the game at 140, against 17 Frostbite, a Legendary at 25. If the threshold rides partly on ore quality, you get exactly this spread.
In the recording below, the player loaded 14 The Apex expecting Heavy Armor and rolled Light Armor. The later explanation was that Warlord's Golden, the piece he was chasing, sits in the Light Armor band. Nobody was cheated by a hidden rule; the preview had said 95%, and 95% is not 100%. The failure mode is treating a community threshold as a guarantee, then blaming the roll.
Official source: the creator recording where 14 The Apex produced Light Armor is the primary evidence for the 14-ore reading, and the same session carries the 17-Frostbite and 22-to-23 readings. One recording is one lineage, which is why every row above is graded rather than crowned.
Armor tab against Weapon tab, side by side
The tabs are separate rolls. The clearest case on record is the same five-ore load of 1 Diamond, 2 Mystic Crystal and 2 Obsidian: Katana 85% on Weapon, Light Helmet 85% on Armor.
| Ore count | Weapon tab reading | Armor tab reading |
|---|---|---|
| 1 to 3 | Katana 0% | no reading published |
| 4 | Katana 100% | Light Helmet 100% |
| 5 | Katana 85% | Light Helmet 85% |
| 6 | no reading published | Light Helmet 70% / Light Armor 30% |
| 7 | Katana 63% (3 Apex + 4 Panic-Core) | no reading published |
| 8 | Greatsword 50% with The Apex, Katana 50% with Toxic | no reading published |
| 12 | Greatsword 85% | no reading published |
| 13 | Greatsword 100% | no reading published |
| 14 to 23 | no reading published | Heavy Armor 95% to 100%, count disputed |
The 8-ore row is why no single table can be handed to you. Eight The Apex read Greatsword 50%, eight Toxic read Katana 50% at the same count. The weapon ladder shifts with the ore, so the armor ladder likely does too, matching the 14-to-23 spread.
The preview is the only number the game itself produces, and the armor tables out there disagree by nine ores. Load the stack, look at the percentage, decide. If it reads 85%, you are accepting a one-in-five miss, and no table changes that.
The multiplier averages, so the Heavy roll is not free
The readout is a weighted average of everything in the slots, not a stack. Seven live readings reproduce it exactly, and the clearest uses the same endgame ores: 3 The Apex plus 4 Panic-Core read 133.14, which is (3 times 140 plus 4 times 128) divided by 7. That extra ore dropped the number below a pure Apex stack.
| Ore | Forge multiplier | Evidence |
|---|---|---|
| The Apex | 140 | Community-observed, highest in game, stage 24 onward |
| Panic-Core | 128 | Community-observed, endgame drops |
| Omni | 60 | Two independent lineages agree |
| Void Shard | 38 | Two independent lineages agree |
| Frostbite | 25 | Community-observed, single source, mid stages |
| Diamond | 23 | Two independent lineages agree |
That is why 17 Frostbite and 14 Apex are not the same achievement even when both read Heavy Armor. Frostbite at 25 across 17 slots is a small average, so that piece carries a modest stat. Full multipliers and drop stages are on the ore table.
The bag is the real gate
A Heavy Armor craft needs 14 to 23 ores in one run. Your bag holds 4 at the start and caps at 24, and Max Ore Count is the upgrade that moves it, bought with Coins at 200, then 1,000, then 5,000 for the first three steps, with twelve steps to the cap.
Until that upgrade is well past 6, the Heavy Armor rows are unreadable in practice, not because the threshold is wrong but because you cannot load 14 slots. Dying in a stage loses every ore you are carrying, so a partial run is a partial run. The store sells no Max Ore Count, making it a Coin sink and nothing else, and community guides rank it the first upgrade to buy.
Once a Heavy Armor lands
The hub has one Enhance station that takes weapons, helmets and chest pieces. Weapons gain Power, helmets and chest pieces raise their own stat. The early steps are cheap and certain: +0 to +1 costs 5 Ember Stones and 200 Coins at 100%, +1 to +2 costs 10 stones and 1,000 Coins at 100%, +2 to +3 costs 20 stones and 3,000 Coins at 85%. An Eternal Helmet has been pushed to +10.
Two rules outrank that table. Failures between +1 and +5 do not drop a level, so a cheap early piece is a safe place to learn. From +6 up a failure costs a level, and the Protection Scroll is the only published answer. The maximum enhance level is unconfirmed, so do not plan around a ceiling.
Equipment survives a rebirth, which is what makes a bad 14-ore roll worth keeping: a rebirth route resets Power and keeps your weapon, helmet, chest piece and ores. The store also created four Void gear items on 2026-09-09 at 399, 599, 699 and 1,299 Robux, and community sources read the 599 one as a helmet-and-armor piece, an alternative to grinding a Heavy roll.
Official source: the official developer product list for universe 10684750879 is the authoritative price list for those Void items and the Enhance Packs. It publishes names and prices only, never stats.
If enemies hit slowly, the problem is Power or weapon. If you die in two hits, armor is the right spend, and the defence bonuses behind that call sit in the races guide.
FAQ
How many ores do I need for Heavy Armor in Loot To Forge? Anywhere from 14 to 23, depending on who you ask and what ore you load. 14 The Apex read 95%, 17 Frostbite 100%, 22 or 23 read 95% to 100%. All community readings, none official, and the spread has never been reconciled.
Is 6 ores better than 4 if I want a chest piece? It is the only count on record that splits between the two slots, at Light Helmet 70% and Light Armor 30%. You are buying a chest-piece chance, not a better helmet, and 30% is a coin flip you take twice.
Why did the same ores give me a different weapon and a different armor? Because the tabs are separate rolls. That five-ore load of 1 Diamond, 2 Mystic Crystal and 2 Obsidian reads Katana 85% on Weapon and Light Helmet 85% on Armor. Switch tabs before you commit.
Does the forge multiplier stack so I can mix tiers? No. The readout is a weighted average, confirmed by seven live readings: 3 The Apex plus 4 Panic-Core averaged 133.14, below a pure Apex stack. Pull the filler out for a higher preview number.
