Loot To Forge best weapon ranked by 60-second output, not grade: Greatsword costs 13 ores against a Katana's 4, and SS rank does not mean strongest.
Loot To Forge Best Weapon: Katana vs Greatsword, Ranked By Output
There are only two weapon classes in +1 Loot To Forge, a Katana and a Greatsword, and between them they roll 21 skills across 6 grades. There is no named-sword tier list to copy, because item names in this game are patch-local: a 13-Apex roll that reads Infernal Overlord on one account reads something else on the next. So the only ranking that means anything is by class, by grade, and by how much Enhance you have pushed into the piece. Ranked on printed damage over a 60-second window, the Greatsword pool is stronger on average and costs 3.25 times the ore, the single best skill is a Greatsword SS, and the single worst is a Katana SS. Grade predicts almost none of it.
- Katana costs 4 ore for a 100% class lock. Greatsword costs 13. That is the whole trade.
- Greatsword averages 4,718% per 60s across its 10 rows. Katana averages 3,619% across its 11. 30.4% more output for 3.25x the ore.
- Blazing Pierce is SS rank and dead last of 21 on output. Lightbreak Slash is A rank and third.
- The ranking is on printed numbers. No uptime, no multi-target factor, no measured damage anywhere in this game.
- +N is a separate axis. Enhance adds to the item, the skill multiplies it, and they do not talk to each other.

The universe record, read 2026-10-04, returns the title, the creator and a code string, and exposes no per-weapon damage, no cooldown and no skill data through any public endpoint. Katana or Greatsword: the class decision, in one table
The class is decided by how many ore you load, not by which tab you press. Both tabs exist and both roll from the same four slots.
| Ore loaded | Class on the preview | Cost ratio | What you get |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4 | Katana 100% | 1.0x | 11-row skill pool, average 3,619% per 60s |
| 8 | Katana or Greatsword 50% | 2.0x | A coin flip on class, decided by ore quality |
| 12 | Greatsword 85% | 3.0x | One run in five comes back a Katana |
| 13 | Greatsword 100% | 3.25x | 10-row skill pool, average 4,718% per 60s |
The 8-ore row is the trap. Eight The Apex read Greatsword 50%, and eight Toxic read Katana 50% at the same count. The weapon ladder shifts with the ore you load, not only the count, which is why the class you get is never guaranteed by arithmetic alone until you hit the locked counts.
Per ore, the Katana is the efficient choice and the Greatsword is the strong one. 3,619% across 4 ore is 905% of average output per ore; 4,718% across 13 is 363%. The Greatsword buys you a 30.4% higher ceiling for a 68% lower rate of return, and it is the right buy exactly when your ore income has outrun your bag.
The tier list, ranked by 60-second output
Calculation used: 60s output equals listed damage multiplied by floor(60 divided by cooldown). Listed damage is a percentage of your own Power. Auto-attacks, cast uptime, multi-target area skills and enemy defense are all excluded, because none of them has been measured by anyone.
| Band | Skills | 60s output |
|---|---|---|
| S | Golden Collapse, Abyss Cleave | 6,300% to 6,650% |
| A | Lightbreak Slash, Wavebreak Slash (SS), Peerless Sword Formation | 5,600% to 6,200% |
| B | Flame Vortex, Fire Slash, Wavebreak Slash (S) | 4,500% to 4,880% |
| C | Shadow Claw Rift, Endless Gale, Rage Frenzy Slash, Omega Rush, Lume Thrust | 3,650% to 4,200% |
| D | Psionic Cross Slash, Mountain Rift, Radiant Thrust, Fury Slash, Whirl Strike, Inferno Shatter, Blazing Pierce, Light Slash | 2,000% to 3,600% |
Averaging each grade instead of sorting skills gives the cleanest answer to the question tier lists exist to answer, and it is not the one the grades imply:
| Grade | Rows | Average 60s output | Spread inside the grade |
|---|---|---|---|
| D | 2 | 2,250% | 2,000% to 2,500% |
| C | 2 | 2,700% | 2,700% on both rows |
| B | 3 | 3,783% | 3,200% to 4,550% |
| S | 5 | 4,015% | 3,600% to 5,600% |
| A | 4 | 4,733% | 3,650% to 6,200% |
| SS | 6 | 5,030% | 2,400% to 6,650% |
Read that middle column top to bottom and grade stops being a ranking. D is lowest, C is next, B is next, then S at 4,015% sits below A at 4,733%, and SS tops out at 5,030% while containing the worst row in the entire table. Grade is the slot a skill occupies in the drop pool, and the drop pool was built for variety, not for a power curve.
Blazing Pierce is SS rank at 300% on a 7s cooldown, which works out to 2,400% over 60 seconds, the lowest of all 21 rows and below D-rank Light Slash. Lightbreak Slash is only A rank, and its 620% on a 6s cooldown produces 6,200%, third overall and ahead of two SS skills. Both are arithmetic on published numbers, not opinions.

| 16 | Radiant Thrust | Katana | B | 320% | 5.5s | 3,200% |
| 17 | Fury Slash | Katana | C | 300% | 6.5s | 2,700% |
| 18 | Whirl Strike | Greatsword | C | 300% | 6.5s | 2,700% |
| 19 | Inferno Shatter | Greatsword | D | 250% | 6s | 2,500% |
| 20 | Blazing Pierce | Katana | SS | 300% | 7s | 2,400% |
| 21 | Light Slash | Katana | D | 200% | 6s | 2,000% |
Wavebreak Slash appears twice in the published source, once at S with 450% on 6s and once at SS with 700% on 7s. Every source that copies the table copies both rows, which is the fingerprint of a table that was copied rather than measured. Read the grade printed on your own weapon card, never the name.

Official source: the developer products API for universe 10684750879, pulled 2026-10-04, is where the 149 Robux Second Skill price and its 2026-09-09 creation date come from. Its description field is empty, exactly like every other product on this game, which is why the effect above stays community-observed.
The Second Skill developer product at 149 Robux adds a second rolled skill, and one video shows SS at 21% and S at 30% with active luck boosts. That is still a roll from the same 21 rows, on boosted odds that nobody has published a base rate for. Forge the free class instead and take what the preview gives you.
Is a +N bad roll worth keeping?
Yes, and the arithmetic is why. Enhance and skill grade are different axes that multiply into each other, so a weak skill on a heavily enhanced item beats a top skill on a raw one.
| What you are holding | Skill contribution | Item contribution | Practical result |
|---|---|---|---|
| D-rank Katana at +0 | 2,000% base | none | The floor of the game |
| SS-rank Katana at +0 | 5,600% base | none | Tied for fourth on output |
| D-rank Katana at +10 | 2,000% base | ten enhance steps | Competes with a mid-tier roll |
| SS Greatsword at +10 | 6,650% base | ten enhance steps | The ceiling, and it is not close |
The measured part is thin, and it is worth being precise about. One creator reading tracked the same weapon going from 231% to 242% Power on the item panel between two levels, which works out to about +11 percentage points of Power per step. That is the panel's own number, not a damage simulation, and no source has published what a step adds beyond +7. A separate capture shows a +7 weapon at 731M Power and a +8 weapon at 1.29B, and those are single readings on accounts with unknown rebirth counts, races and training multipliers. Do not read them as targets.
What is solid is the failure rule. Below +6 a failure burns only materials. At +6 and above it takes the level with it, under an in-game line reading that enhance level six plus failure will lower the level. That inverts the advice: a cheap early piece is the right place to learn the system, and pushing your good gear past +6 without Protection Scrolls is the expensive mistake. The cost and success table is on the enhance guide.
What to do with the losers
Two skills on this list are worth selling rather than keeping, and one of them is SS rank.
| Situation | Sell value on record | Note |
|---|---|---|
| A D-rank Katana you will never equip | 120 Coins for UnCommon Jagged Havoc | The bottom of the ladder |
| Blazing Pierce at 2,400% per 60s | Nothing special | Worst of 21 rows |
| Anything Mythic or better | 6.82M upward for Mythic Crimson Viper | Sell only if the class is wrong for you |
Community sell readings run from about 120 Coins for an UnCommon weapon to 674.63M for Infinite Infernal Overlord, and none of them are official. The tier matters more than the number: a Mythic Katana with a bad skill is worth more sold than equipped, while a D-rank Greatsword is not, because you cannot buy the class back without 13 ore.
FAQ
What is the best weapon in Loot To Forge? By 60-second output, Golden Collapse, a Greatsword SS skill at 6,650%. By grade alone you would guess the same answer, but you would also guess SS is safe, and it is not: Blazing Pierce is SS and ranks twentieth of 21. The class matters more than the grade, and the Greatsword pool is the stronger one.
Should I get a Katana or a Greatsword? Katana if your ore income is bag-limited, because 4 ore locks the class and averages 905% of output per ore. Greatsword if your income has outrun your bag: 13 ore locks it and averages 4,718% per 60s against the Katana's 3,619%, a 30.4% higher ceiling for 3.25x the cost.
Is SS rank always the strongest skill? No, and the published numbers settle it. SS rows average 5,030% over 60 seconds, the highest of any grade, but that average contains Blazing Pierce at 2,400%, the worst row in the game. A-rank Lightbreak Slash outproduces two SS skills on a shorter cooldown.
Are there named swords I should look for? Not reliably. Item names are patch-local and a video title is not a recipe. What the forge guarantees is the class, and only at the locked ore counts of 4 and 13. The strongest items on record are both Infinite from September 2026 footage, Infernal Overlord as a Greatsword from 13 units of The Apex at 708M Power, and Bone Carver as a Katana at +600M, and both are one player's best case rather than a rate you can farm toward.
Why does my Katana and my Greatsword have the same skill listed twice? Because the published table has 21 rows but only 20 names. Wavebreak Slash appears at S with 450% on a 6s cooldown and at SS with 700% on 7s, and every source that copies the table copies both. Read the grade off your weapon card in the Backpack and you will never guess wrong.
Is it worth paying for a Second Skill? Rarely at the listed odds. It costs 149 Robux and adds a second random skill from the same 21 rows, with one video showing SS at 21% under active luck boosts. Nobody has published the base rate, and the two rows that break grade-based reasoning mean an SS roll is not automatically an upgrade.
